Alessandro studied economics and tourism science and as his thesis project he created an educational program focusing on “Water in the World.” In collaboration with the not-for-profit organization African ’70 he has developed responsible tourism in Guatemala. His tours specialize in taking Westerners to rural areas mainly inhabited by the decedents of the indigenous Maya.

He has built his tour operator, The Labyrinth, to facilitate these experience and visitors to the history of exploitation, human rights abuses and extreme poverty in some of these far flung villages.
